Pockets of Dailekh, an area 700 km west of Kathmandu, have stores of common gas, a review led by Chinese analysts has found.An introductory report of the Nepal-China collaboration study was submitted to Beijing few days back, and was made accessible to Nepal this week. Nepal's authorities say the discoveries are 'empowering'. As per the report, the gas found in Dailekh is not the same as the methane found under regions of Kathmandu. The gas found in Dailekh can specifically be packaged and sold to customers, the report says. In spite of the fact that parcel has been said in regards to the possibility of petroleum investigation in Nepal, this is the first run through normal gas has been found in the country.The Chinese analysts, who were in Nepal in November a year ago, gathered specimens of rocks from various zones of Nepal and took them to their lab in China, where they dissected them.
